Hello from the President’s Corner,
At the May 9, 2006 regular board meeting, the board appointed Howard Harris to the Board of Director’s position for sub-district #1. He replaced Taner Elliott who has moved out of the water district.
Howard comes to us with a vast amount of experience. He was a board member and past president of several water and sanitation boards with over 10 years of experience. He is associated with Columbia River Bank. We welcome Howard to our Board of Directors.
Taner Elliott was recognized at the June 13, 2006 board meeting for his service and dedication to the water district and received a nice plaque.
We also welcomed a local resident, Mike Elmore, who volunteered to serve on the 2006 budget committee and also shared his talents on several other committees. He comes to us with a background of thirty four years of municipal government experience. The last thirty years was in the capacity of Assistant Director and Director of Public Works Department for the City of Bend. The last six months before he retired he was Assistant City Manager of Bend.
The Intertie project is moving along after numerous delays. Hopefully contracts will be let shortly. More information on project as it progresses.
