As
the District Manager of Chenowith Water PUD I would like to take this
opportunity to give a brief background about myself and why the District
and safeguarding our drinking water is so vital to me.
I
have lived in The Dalles (Chenowith area) since 1964; attended Chenowith
Schools and a Wahtonka High School graduate; attended college in Portland
but returned to The Dalles to raise my family.
I
have a wonderful husband of 22 years, Bradley (who also was raised in
The Dalles), two great sons, Victor and Danny. Victor has been working
towards his physical science and education degree at OSU; presently
taking a break from studies and living in Mosier. Danny is in his final
year at OIT in Klamath Falls and will be a professional land surveyor
upon completion.
I
came to work for Chenowith Water Irrigation Cooperative in 1985 as the
office manager. Within a couple of years I took my first state exam
to become a water operator. I work for and trained under Russ Rhodes,
whose father Ernie was instrumental in creating our water system. A
couple years later I had completed enough training and schooling to
take a second level exam and completed cross connection training. Due
to new management, in the summer of 1994 my employment with the Co-op
ended. In March 1995, I was elected to the Board of Directors and continued
to serve on the Board until November 2002. I resigned as President and
Board of Directors to accept the position offered as District Manager.
My main objective as District Manager is to provide safe drinking water
at an affordable rate and offer superb customer service.
