WATER DISTRIBUTION FIELD SUPERVISOR:
The Field Supervisor is responsible for supervising, scheduling, prioritizing & coordinating the work of the water operations employees in the day to day activities of the District under the direction of the District Manager. At-Will Position.
Duties (not limited to):
- Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and insures timely and competent performance of operations, maintenance, repair, and replacement activities and assists as needed in the field.
- Supervises O & M for utility and assist in expansion processes which include coordinating with engineer’s, contractors & suppliers.
- Assist in hiring competent staff as positions become available. Assist in determining staffing needs and revising job descriptions as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of permitting requirements, knowledge of SDWA.
- Implement & participate in on-call scheduling.
- Assist in analyzing and evaluating equipment, pumps & motors, electrical components; trouble-shooting malfunctions and recommending repairs &/or replacement.
- Performs other duties as assigned and required.
- Works under limited supervision & direction.
- Acts for the District Manager as directed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Oregon Water Distribution Grade 2 required; treatment & cross connection specialist desirable.
- Minimum five years experience in Water Operations, preferably in public utility, to include 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- General knowledge of utility and water line construction practices.
- Knowledge of pumps, well operations and basic plant components.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Possess skills in basic computer processing.
- Knowledge of basic Safety/OSHA standards.
Wages to be determined based on experience & qualifications.
